Ethical Boundaries in Rural Communities

This training will focus on professional ethics in rural settings. Particular attention will be paid to boundary and technology issues.  A decision making model will be presented and case examples discussed by participants. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the unique aspects of ethical issues in rural settings
  • Make use of a consistent model for making ethical decisions
  • Know where to find information in the Code of ethics

Registration includes a copy of the 2017 NASW Code of Ethics.

Attendees may use this course to meet compliance of 3 ethics continuing education credits. K-State Polytechnic is a pre-approved continuing education provider approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Provider number 15-005.

About the Instructor

Margaret J. Presley

Margaret Presley Worked in the area of child abuse and family issues for 20 years in the Kansas City area.  She began teaching part time during those years.  In 1989 she moved to Lindsborg to teach social work at Bethany College and finished out her teaching career at Kansas State in Salina. During her career she also had a private practice doing home studies on potential adoptive parents. She has taught and trained in the area of ethics for much of her career.
