Kansas State Polytechnic believes in building a strong foundation for students as they enter the collegiate environment. uBelong is the first formal academic experience requiring incoming student participation. uBelong themes of connecting with resources, transitioning to college life, planning the experience, and building a community sets the academic tone and articulates the university's expectations for students. uBelong is held on the Saturday prior to fall semester start. Participation is required for all students who are new to campus or students who transfer with less than 30 academic credit hours.
Topics included in this theme are: academic expectations, integrity, and rigor, university honor code, critical financial literacy skills, life balance, cultural awareness, alumni / senior student panel and personal skills.
Discussion of academic minors, experiential learning, internships, service learning opportunities, leadership opportunities, and group advising.
Introduction to campus support resources available to students.
Intentional activities occur throughout the day to enable community building amongst students.
