Student Support Services
The Federal TRiO Programs (TRiO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRiO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post baccalaureate programs. TRiO also includes a training program for directors and staff of TRiO projects.
Student Support Services is one of the eight programs mentioned earlier and serves students enrolled in post-secondary educational institutions. Student Support Services at Kansas State Polytechnic has been serving students on the Salina Campus since 2001. SSS currently serves 160 students annually on the Salina Campus.
Resources and services include but are not limited to: academic advising, acute counseling and referral services, cultural enrichment programming, tutoring services, workshops, financial aid navigation/comprehension and scholarship assistance. In other words, services designed to support and assist students to excel and graduate. Student Support Services staff are committed to students and want to be a part of their academic journey.
