Working with Loss and Grief
Working with people will bring you into contact with those experiencing loss and grief at many levels. This three-hour workshop is designed to explore the types of losses that may trigger a grief reaction and help you become more aware of the needs of people experiencing loss. The workshop will also explore the impact of loss on the professional and identify strategies for working through losses.
Attendees may use this course to meet compliance 3 continuing education credits. K-State Polytechnic is a pre-approved continuing education provider approved by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board. Provider number 15-005.
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Identify a broad range of losses that trigger grief
- Describe common myths about grieving
- Identify common grief reactions
- Discuss central needs of mourning
- Recognize unresolved issues
- Utilize ideas generated for creating meaning

A discounted rate is offered for companies or organizations sending multiple attendees. Discounts are tied to number of attendees as follows:

A discounted registration rate is offered to current graduate and post doctoral students. To be eligible for the academia discount, students should complete a scholarship application form and submit proof of enrollment status by September 29.
