Emotional Intelligence

Business professionals are encouraged to attend Emotional Intelligence at Kansas State Polytechnic. Discover how emotional intelligence enables you to better understand personalities in the workplace while maximizing professional relationships. Attendees will leave with a new understanding of collaboration, innovation, and creativity to improve team dynamics.

Activities and discussion will focus on helping team members gain a better understanding of one another, how to identify triggers or hot buttons, and the benefits of a solutions-focused mindset. Attendees will complete the True Colors personality assessment to gain a better understanding of themselves while working to better understand others.

The workshop will specifically address the following outcomes:

  • Gain awareness of individual Emotional Intelligence strengths and weaknesses
  • Leverage Emotional Intelligence to improve team effectiveness
  • Utilize Emotional Intelligence to improve productivity, accountability, and bottom line performance

REGISTRATION FEE SCHOLARSHIP

Professional Education and Outreach is dedicated to extending Kansas State University's academic offerings beyond the walls of the university through professional development courses. In an effort to provide professional development courses for all professionals a registration free scholarship is available for select professional development offerings. Registration fee scholarships are awarded based on:

  • Career potential and experience of candidate
  • Ability to utilize course teachings in candidate's career field
  • Identifiable limitations on candidate's ability to attend

Applicants must submit a complete application package by Wednesday, November 26, 2014 to be considered for the scholarship. Applications received after November 26 will not be considered. Scholarships will only be awarded if the course meets the minimum registration. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship decision by Thursday, December 4, 2014.

If you are traveling east or west on I-70, stay on I-70 until the I-70/I135 interchange. Travel south on I-135 to the Magnolia St. exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia to Centennial Rd. Turn right and proceed to the Kansas State Polytechnic campus. 

If you are traveling north or south on I-135, take the Magnolia St. exit (No. 90). Go west on Magnolia to Centennial Rd. Turn right and proceed to the Kansas State Polytechnic campus.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION:

You should receive an email confirmation of registration and statement or invoice within 24 hours of registering. If you do not, please email profed@k-state.edu or call 785-826-2633 or toll free 855-552-0079.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Substitutions will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Contact Professional Education and Outreach to request a substitution.

Payment is required by the event date. We accept the following types of payments. Please reference your invoice number when calling or mailing payments.

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS:

Cancellations must be received by Kansas State Polytechnic Professional Education and Outreach by 5:00 pm on December 4, 2014. Refunds will only be honored if the cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Cancellations received after the deadline, are not eligible for a refund. Registrants who do not cancel their registration are responsible for the registration fee even if they do not attend and have not paid the fee.

Kansas State Polytechnic Professional Education and Outreach may cancel or postpone any course or activity because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If the event is canceled or postponed, the Professional Education and Outreach office will refund registration fees, but cannot be held responsible for costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, or travel agencies.

PUBLICITIY STATEMENT:

Registration for this event gives consent for photographs, publicity, and inclusion on the participant list unless Kansas State Polytechnic Professional Education and Outreach is notified in writing at profed@k-state.edu prior to the start date.
