Secondary Major in Gerontology

The Secondary Major is available to all undergraduate students enrolled in any primary major. Most programs of study will allow the student to take both a primary and secondary major within the normal four year academic program of his/her college. Minors are typically based within one discipline and require 15-18 credit hours. The secondary major requires a total of 24 credit hours.

The requirements are:

  1. GERON 315 Introduction to Gerontology (3 credits)

  2. GERON 600 Seminar in Gerontology (3 credits)

  3. 18 undergraduate credit hours taken from the Departmental Course Electives in at least three different departments. These courses may also apply to the student's disciplinary degree.
