Kansas State Polytechnic

Office of the CEO and Dean

On the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus, we pride ourselves on providing students with an experiential education.

We want students to learn by doing, bringing concepts and theories to life. Our nationally recognized faculty and staff are devoted to supporting program excellence and student success. We also emphasize an open and inclusive environment with diverse organizations, activities and opportunities that give a sense of belonging, instill confidence and allow for new exploration.

The Polytechnic Campus is continually improving its facilities because it is imperative that students have access to modern and relevant spaces, equipment and technology. Recently, the aviation program added four new Beechcraft Bonanza G36 aircraft to its learning fleet. One of the largest enclosed unmanned flight facilities in the nation was constructed on campus for the UAS, or drone, program. Several buildings, including the Welcome Center and the Outreach Center, have received renovations.

K-State is on an exciting trajectory, working everyday to become one of the nation's Top 50 public research institutions by 2025, and the Polytechnic Campus is committed to its part in the university’s visionary goal. In 2015, the Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center was opened in the city of Salina to study the science and understanding of bulk solids materials handling. It is the only one of its kind in North America.

The UAS program on the Polytechnic Campus is also actively engaged in multiple research projects, collaborating with such renowned entities as the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Westar Energy. Along with this leading edge research, the bachelor's degree program was named No. 2 in the "Top 20 Unmanned Aerial Systems Colleges in the United States."

It is an exciting time to be a Wildcat. And to continue providing this generation of students as well as our future K-Staters with the best experience possible, the university has launched an ambitious $1 billion Innovation and Inspiration campaign. With 90 percent of that monumental goal reached, K-State and the Polytechnic Campus are deeply grateful to the generous supporters who want to see our students thrive. Every gift has purpose and is truly appreciated.

The next time you are in the Salina area, please feel free to stop by my office. My door is open and I look forward to meeting you!
